my girlfriend has a nightmare disorder to the point where she stays up really late because she doesn't want to sleep

it's really cutting into her sleep schedule and I don't want her to be in fear of sleeping

it is usually the same dream and she is restrained and can't move and her family dies. So is that sleep paralysis or nightmare disorder?

she won't do anything to fix it, so I'm coming to you guys

any ideas or remedies on how to cure this ?  thanks in advance

p.s.  I'm  16  she's  17 ,  so we're still in high school

if she stays up late she has to be careful not to disrupt the circadian rhythm, like if you using a low power red light in that time, the circadian rhythm perceives that as dark !

the problem is not the nightmares themselves, but that she is not sleeping deeply enough and is remembering them, really the only dreams we should remember are those occurring on the point when we wake up
